Adichunchanagiri Wildlife Sanctuary covered with scrub forest and plantations, the Adichunchanagiri peacock sanctuary's altitude varies from 770 to 1000 meters. There was a clear motive behind the setting up of this sanctuary, the conservation of the peacocks.

Besides the innumerable peacocks that thrive in this place Adichunchanagiri peacock sanctuary also provides asylum to bonnet macaque, fruit bat, jungle cat, hare and common mongoose. The sheer diversity of birds and butterflies are bound to impress you. You will stumble upon the rarest species of the yellow-throated bulbul. The Chunchanagiri temple and the pilgrim center are in close proximity to the Adichunchanagiri peacock sanctuary.

Air: The nearest airport is at Bangalore which is 110 kms.

Rail: Mandya is the nearest railhead.

Road: Accessibility via road is from Bangalore to Nagmangala (90 km) and then 26 km on to the sanctuary, via Nelligere.
