About Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary   Croodiles

Known as a heaven to birds, the Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is extremely rich in its scenic beauty. The collection of birds here is really a remarkable thing. The sanctuary is spread over a group of islands, and is surrounded by little hills. The Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary spreads out over an impressive 3 kilometers. Standing at 200 meters above the sea level, it gives a splendid view of the adjacent river mouth and sea which simply makes this place a memorable one.

Kadalundi bird sanctuary is located at 19 kilometers from Kozhikode, Kerala, India. It is home to more than a hundred varieties of native birds. Every year, over 60 species of migratory birds congregate here in large numbers. The Kadalundi bird sanctuary is also famous for a large variety of Fish, Mussels and Crabs.

This wildlife sanctuary houses the largest number of birds in the whole of Kerala. The birds inhabiting the places are woodpecker, black bulbul, jungle fowl, laughing thrush, myna, kingfisher and peafowl. The Kadalundi bird sanctuary has adopted several scientific methods that avoid any harm and facilitate the habits and habitats of the innumerable birds flocking into the sanctuary every year.

The Kadalundi bird sanctuary is famous for its birds. A lot of different varieties of birds are found here. The most famous species are cormorants, Malabar hornbills, woodpeckers, darters, plovers, kingfishers, and brahminy kites. All these can be found along the majestic backwaters of Kerala.
