Mahad Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1980 in the Mishimi Hills tract of Arunanchal Pradesh. It extends from the lower hills at an elevation of about 400 mts. to 3500 mts.
Mahad Wildlife Sanctuary is rich in vegitation as Sub-montane semi-evergreen forest; Secondary wet mixed forest; Eastern Hollock forest; Subtropical wet hill forest; Wet temperate forest; Sub-alpine forest.. The Sanctuary is rich in the population of Wildlife like Clouded leopard, Leopard Cat, Jungle Cat, Hollock Gibbon, Musk Dear, Spotted Linsang and Swamp Deer. |
