Situated in south-east part of Giridih District and about 25 kms. away from Giridih town, Parasnath Wildlife Sanctuary constitutes of lush green Parasnath pahar which stands with majestic silence and with gignatic gorgeousness. It has a forest area of 49.33 sq. kms..

Mammals: Leopard, Barking Deer, Spotted Deer, Langur, Monkey, Wild Bear, Jackal, Hyaena, Hare, Porcupine and Jungle Cat.

Birds: Peafowl, Parakeet, Cuckoo.

Reptiles: Chameleon, Python, Cobra.

The period from October to March is ideal to visit the Sanctuary.

Road: the sanctuary is easily accessible from Rajmahal and Sahibganj.

Rail: Nearest Railway Station Parasnath 16 kms.

Air: Nearest Airpot is Ranchi 170 Kms.

Summers are very hot.
